Survey Results
The (preliminary) results are in! Listen to today’s video to hear about the ‘top’ challenges experienced by leaders and staff members! Do you agree with the top choices?
[Alicia Davis] Hey, welcome back from vacation Stacie –
[Stacie Watson] You too, Alicia! It was nice to be away. And it’s nice to be back.
[Alicia Davis] It’s super, super nice to be away and to be back. We are really excited about the survey that we sent because we sent out a survey to our leaders about themselves and their teams and their top challenges. And we’re starting to get some really cool results coming back. And we wanted to start sharing them with everybody who participated. Right?
[Stacie Watson] Totally, yeah, it was really fun to sort of be anticipating some of those responses while we were away. And then when we came back and looked at what had come in yesterday, first of all, if you answered the questions, thank you so much, because this information is really enlightening for us in terms of the work that we do. Also, I think enlightening for all of you to sort of understand what you’re experiencing and what some of your peers may be experiencing in terms of top challenges. So I think you have a graphic to pull up, right?
[Alicia Davis] I do. So their initial results that we had put down some options, because these were the themes that we hear, right? Intelligence, healthy boundaries, being able to make decisions, effective communication, being able to hold others accountable, managing conflict, and establishing team trust. Those are themes across the board, we hear from managers, we hear from executives, we hear from everybody, and find them not surprising, right smack in the middle – effective communication.
[Stacie Watson] Yeah, top challenge! Well, I think, you know, we always sort of say that when we get calls and requests to come in and provide some kind of support, or guidance within teams and organizations, communication is often one of the top issues that people share with us, I think – I mean – it makes sense, because the way we work together requires effective communication.
[Alicia Davis] So and, you know, we saw that in terms of the challenges faced by leaders. And then we also asked the question, as they consider if they have a team or non-management staff, what are some of the challenges that they might be facing? And different, uh, different topics – still effective communication at the top of the list. And then burnout, compassion fatigue, work/life balance, and navigating change. Those are also… they all kind of go hand in hand, don’t they?
[Stacie Watson] Yeah, they really do. When you think about sort of just how we show up at work, how we work with each other, how we support ourselves at work. I mean, I think those themes are woven into all of those topics. So again, communication sort of takes the day in terms of what’s top of mind. And what was so interesting to me, and I think to us, Alicia, is that we were already looking at sort of the topic of communication, and thinking about even the offering that we have around that topic, and really expanding that and getting into a lot more granular detail about – what does it mean to communicate? What skills do you need? How do you do that confidently? And then maybe most importantly, are also importantly, how do you drive action with the communication process? Like how can you sort of encourage someone to do whatever it is you need them to do? So we’ll be talking a little bit more about that in the coming weeks. Right?
[Alicia Davis] That’s right. Well, I was gonna say if you – as a leader, manager, or team member – if you are interested in learning more about these new communication sessions that we have expanded and created, reach out to us, send us an email info@tlstransforms.com. We would love to hear from you. And we’re gonna, we’re gonna leave the survey up, we’re gonna put a link in the survey, if you haven’t had a chance to take it. We’re still open. We’re gonna keep it open for about a week. We’re putting it out on social media just to get an even broader reach, just to see if that makes a difference. And we would love to hear your response, whether it’s in the survey, or emailing us at info@tlstransforms.com.
[Alicia Davis] So I’m Alicia Davis.
[Stacie Watson] I’m Stacie Watson.
[Alicia Davis] And we are the executive coaches and founders at Transformative Leadership Strategies and we look forward to talking and supporting you. Take care.
[Stacie Watson] Thank you.
